You can make one of these in about an hour!
We had family pictures done and when I was planning the color scheme I realized I didn't have any clothes that matched (or even fit) the rest of the family. It was the night before picture day and it was late, so I ran into Wal-mart with my fingers crossed. I found a gray/silver sparkly t-shirt. That was all they had that was any thing close to the color I needed, SO.....I grabbed it and went home to look in my closet for a shirt to recycle. I found a few, but the blue and white stripe button down seemed to be the right match. I grabbed my scissors and started cutting strips of the shirt to create the ruffled edge on this cardigan......
Bought this t-shirt at Wal-mart for $3.00....
Cut it up the middle....
I had another button up shirt that I never wear, so I cut strips out of it...
Made a stitch straight down the middle of each strip...
I had to cut the neck line a little to make a curve..
I used the cut piece to use as a pattern for the other side, that way they were even...
Stitched it right on top of the t-shirt...
The shirt was slightly too baggy and the sleeves were too long on me....
Snip, Snip here and a snip, snip there...
Here it is....
I had to make some flowers out of the left overs :)
And add some buttons...
What do you think?
